Method 1 — VSTACK (Excel 365)
- In an empty cell:
=VSTACK(Sheet1:Sheet3!A2:D100)stacks that range from every sheet between Sheet1 and Sheet3. - Add headers above it manually. Simple, but it needs a consistent range and doesn't record which sheet each row came from.
Method 2 — Power Query (Append)
- Turn each sheet into a query (Data → From Table/Range).
- Data → Get Data → Combine Queries → Append, and add all the queries.
- Close & Load to a new sheet. Powerful, but a multi-step setup to build and refresh.

Frequently asked questions
How do I merge data from multiple sheets into one?
Stack them with VSTACK (365), Append them in Power Query, or use Tellsheet's Combine Sheets, which stacks every sheet and tags each row with its source.
What's the difference between combining and merging?
Combining stacks sheets (adds rows). Merging joins tables side by side on a key (adds columns) — for that use Tellsheet's Merge by Key.
Can I keep track of which sheet each row came from?
Yes — Combine Sheets adds a Source column with each row's sheet name automatically.
